RADCON FORMULA #7

RADCON FORMULA #7

Description:

Radcon formula #7 is a bio-silicate modified waterproofing solution that creates a vapour permeable sub-surface barrier to prevent water leakage and ingress of contaminants into the cracks and concrete matrix.

Radcon formula #7 provides a solution that penetrates into concrete and reacts with Calcium Hydroxide and water at ambient temperatures to form a non water soluble complex calcium silicate hydrate gel in the cracks pores and capillaries.

Radcon formula #7 is a waterproofing solution that is a non-toxic, clear, odourless silicate based material with proprietary biochemical modification. Radcon seals existing leaking cracks up to 2.00mm in structural concrete.  In the matrix, it remains react with water to provide autogenous healing properties to future hairline cracks to 0.3mm.

Radcon #7 Spray Procedure

  • Ensure all general precautions in this Section have been addressed
  • Use spray equipment as outlined in 1.2.4
  • Only spray when ambient temperatures are between 5C and 40C
  • Spray only concrete which is visibly dry to the touch (no dampness)
  • Spray products with low pressure in low wind conditions
  • Apply at 5 sqm per litre (normal concrete).
  • Apply liberal watering within first 6 hours of application, once application is touch dry (sticky to touch)
  • If application is still not touch dry after 6 hours, apply liberal water process.
  • On completion, immediately open to site traffic
  • Spray water Day 2
  • Spray Water Day 3 (Application complete)
  • Pond test

If Radcon #7 is applied as a curing agent, then a water pond test over the treated area is recommended 28 days after application during which time the primary hydration period has occurred. This is required to see if further applications are required to seal any voids or cracks, using the Radcrete System Approach. Where ancillary products are being used for such purposes as expansion joints, pour joints, and roof penetrations, then this work should be undertaken prior to the Radcon #7 treatment.
