Background
Advanced Concrete Technologies was invited by the Client based on previous successful relationship with the contractor. The underground tank was to be built less than 30 Metre away from the sea. Therefore the Hydro static pressure was very high. Infact there was fear of whether it will be possible to achieve a leak free tank after construction.
Solution
Aquafin AQ100p Admixture was recommended for the casting and the whole tank was totally water tight after construction. The tank has since been commissioned and been used for storage of petroleum products. The unique advantage of Aquafin admix is that as a third generation crystalline it has the highest capacity to withstand hydrostatic pressure and water attack.
